This is a common electronics project where you use the persistence of vision to create a image from a line of LED's timed to vary in intensity as you sweep by. An example of this are digital clocks put on ceiling fans. Another is LED's on bicycle spokes. Looks like somebody is trying to make money with the concept.

This is horrendous. Are we just suuposed to become recepticles for these mind control ads?

Don't laugh, that's exactly what they are, and there is an industry based around the fact that they work. They make yuou think a different way than before.

I cringe at the idea that we will become like Tom Cruise's character in Minority Report, where our eyes are scanned as we walk by, and ads blast us, by name, as we walk by. It's a total invasion of privacy.

It's getting closer all the time. At home I can turn off the offending media, but now I am subjected to these "forced commercial breaks" when standing in line at the market or filling up at the gas station.

I can't drive down the freeway, now, without ads the size of buildings blinding me with daylight visible neon lights.

Now this. Will we have to ride the subways with our eyes closed or wearing blinders to escape from this "in your face" advertising?

I say write nasty emails to any company you see advertised in this way.

Freedom FROM ads should be a right. Vote with your dollars and your voice.

I find I only need two distractions on the subway, a book and a iPod. Ads ads and video I don't want. What I do want are fewer subway breakdowns, more trains, newer trains, and cleaner subway stations. As my blog might indicate, the subway is the best place to read a book, not watch TV.

I would rather see additional advertising that I can close my eyes to, which concurrently raises more money to be used for transit improvements or holding fares at bay, than having to start listening to every subway rider below ground speaking on their phones. Above ground while captive in a bus or on an elevated line is bad enough

I see noise polution as far worse than ad polution.
