@JOE: The police were attempting to detain the guy to issue him the ticket for fare jumping. All of a sudden, he started getting antsy and was resisting. That's when they went hands on. Who cares how the guy got the student pass, maybe some kid actually let him use it. That station is full of crack heads and drug dealers and the Queensbridge Housing projects is close by. The cops were there about drugs not about fare beaters. They don’t give a damn about farebeaters but they do know that a lot of them (farebeaters) over there are carrying drugs on them. I believe the cop loosened his own weapon out of the holster, ready to shoot this guy but it either fell and the guy got it and used it on them or the guy just was able to take it from him. The weapons are locked in the holster and can not be pulled out like that, only if it was already loosened in anticipation of using it. You can’t believe all that you read in the media. I know the cops in the subway are really pissed off and also some are afraid after what happened to their “own”. I’ve seen cops this evening on the stations as they dealt with the farebeaters and swipers. They are handling things quite differently than how the usually do, that’s all I will say about that.
