Free MetroCards!

dunkinmetroWant a free ride with that donut?

Over the next month, Dunkin’ Donuts is making the morning commute a little brighter for New Yorkers by providing free subway rides at four of Manhattan’s busiest subway stations. The giveaway is a component of Dunkin’s newly launched “You Kin Do It!” campaign to encourage everyday workers to keep America running during these tough times.

Dunkin’ Donuts representatives will hand out free Metrocards between 6:30 am- 9:30 am on the following dates, outside these stations:

  • Monday, January 12th- Lexington Ave/ 53rd Street
  • Tuesday, January 20th- 14th Street/ Union Square Station
  • Monday, January 26th- Grand Central Station
  • Monday, February 2nd- Times Square/42nd Street

Personally, as someone that goes to the big D on a daily basis (no joke), I wish they were handing out Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards.  But hey, MetroCards are cool too.

I think its a great idea and a very kind jesture. If more companies would follow their lead we just might survive this mess our bankers have got us into. Great post!

I think it is just the Dunkin Donuts in the Columbus Circle area, but they drive me absolutely insane. The people that work there are just idiots. They hardly speak English, and a line out the door doesn’t make them feel like they should move any faster.

Others around the city are much better.

However, nothing beats a New England Dunkin.

I agree DD should have been giving out some gift cards or at least a coupon for one free cup of coffee. I love DD’s coffee. However, I do appreciate the free ride on MTA.

Thats cool…I’m always going to the city & dunkin donuts is my fav. place to get coffee. Wish they would do something like that in Jersey for the NJ transit.

    Thanks for spreading the word!!

There’s a DD in Penn station that is god awful. It’s not the one downstairs on the bottom level, it’s between the main Amtrak level and MSG (for the 2 Penn Plaza workers). They don’t speak English, they’re dirty, and when you ask them for milk and sugar, they give it to you black. Even if you’re very specific you want sugar, they’re like “OK, OK, and STILL give it to you black.”

I love clipping coupons! I save approx. $50 a Month doing this! I suggest getting electric scissors when cutting coupons in bulk!
