My brother got infected with H1N1 or Swine Flu in Mexico. He got a mild fever and luckily he did not die.

It makes me nervous to no end now travelling in public with without having my handy bottle of sanitizer with me. I’m beginning to wonder how long it’ll be before we start seeing people wear masks being commonplace.

I can relate to you too. Yesterday, I took the public transit in San Diego, wanting to get some groceries for my son and I just coughed once. Everyone was looking at me wondering why I coughed in the bus. Yeah, I’m only human and I did cover my mouth. So what? It’s getting crazier every day.

Things seem to have settled down a little now and people are over the initial shock…thank god. It did give me a big wakeup call though with regards to how dirty things (especially the subway) can be and washing hands is just so important these days.

But besides wearing face mask and keep ourselves hygiene, what else can we do to prevent this flu? I knew there urges explain to avoid crowded places, but sometimes we have to… Oh… I’m praying and hope all these will end soon!!!

What bothers me is, “The WHO” is saying this AH1N1 Swine Flu is spreading faster then they can track it, and they are recommending all governments make it mandatory to vaccinate the worlds population and want to imprison those that refuse the vaccine.
The Pharmaceutical companies claim they won’t have enough vaccine in time for the return of the flu in the fall, when it will have mutated and is stronger.

From my understanding you cannot prevent catching swine flu by wearing a face mask.

i always advice my kids to wear face masks when going into crowded areas. swine flu is really scary and i dont want my kids getting infected by it.

it is quite true that so far the H1N1 virus is fairly mild overall, but it would be surprising if it stayed that way. influenza is notoriously changeable, and only about one percent of all the people who will ultimately be infected by swine flu have been infected already. so there remains a lot of genetic experimentation ahead for this virus.

I was on the A train last week on my way to work, sitting in one of the side-facing seats closest to the pair of front-facing seats when I choked on my coffee. Despite the fact that it was obvious I was choking on my coffee and that I covered my mouth with my handkerchief, the man in the front-facing seat near me turned his body nearly all the way around. He didn’t get up and walk away, but he did sit in that weird twisted position for the rest of my trip (another 20 minutes) despite the fact that I only coughed for about 30 seconds. Now that’s pretty crazy in my book.
