Newsflash. Playing your hiphop ringtones over and over on the train doesn’t make you cool or bad ass. It makes you look like an ignorant jackass.
I’ve seen it over and over. I guess I should say I’ve heard it over and over. It’s like they think they have a portable stereo with them.
They DJ their ringtones like they were mixing at a club. Then they rap along and bounce their heads. Meanwhile, grandma is plotting her esape plan.
Nothing against hip hop, but there’s a time and place for some songs. They hardcore, gangsta versions don’t belong in mixed comapny on a crowded subway.
“Uhhh…gonna fuckin’ kill the bitch…yeeeeah,” shouldn’t be forced upon anyone this early in the morning.

More annoying are the people who insist on playing FULL MP3s out loud on their cell phones in a crowded train and then sit then and smirk while the rest of the car glares at them. One day, some cell-phone-playing-music fool is going to get punched, I think, by an irate straphanger.

I agree playing ringtones over & over is idiotic. Would the same complaints be shared if it wasn’t hip hop but some music you liked though? I like to be fair about this.
Thankfully I drown out the noise with my Creative (hate IPods) & everything is just fine.

Personally, I listen to rap/hip hop. So it’s nothing against the music. I would have the same problem if it was hard core rock too. If Buckcherry’s “Crazy Bitch” was playing, I would have the same problem.
Anything with offensive lyrics bothers me. Then again, classical music might offend someone else, so who knows.
I say you just turn the ringers off and keep it to yourself. It’s the same thing as having a boombox on the train…illegal.

No. Hearing music you like would not be annoying. If it was, radio stations would not exist.
But that’s not my point. I haven’t experienced the ‘ring-tone’ problem yet, but I am sick of people playing their mp3 players so loud that it sounds like there’s an external speaker. I don’t let it bother me though, because in a few years those people will be deaf. Thinking about that makes me smile š
